Key west is the biggest City with 24690 citizens (2010). The Emergency Operations Center is located in the city of Marathon (10626 Citizens in 2005).

"Marathon" - The Marathon Substation is located at 3101 Overseas Hwy. Visible to traffic along US1. "Islamorada" - The Islamorada Substation is located at 86800 Overseas Hwy. Visible along US1 to south bound traffic. "Layton" - Although not an actual station, this is the perpetually parked Sheriff squad car perched along US1 in 'downtown' Layton. Someone is doing a great job weed-whacking around it!
Detention Centers: County jails are located at Plantation Key, Key Largo, Marathon, and their main facility at headquarters on College Road on Stock Island (4MM).
Monroe County, Florida Fire Rescue Stations Since April 1st, 2015, The Key West Fire Department has provided complete Emergency Medical Services (EMS) for the city. The integration of the Fire Department and EMS means streamlined, more efficient services to the residents and visitors of Key West. Of the 88 members of the Key West Fire Department, 83 are EMTs and 22 are paramedics.
Three new Horton ambulances are housed at each of the fire stations and are ready to roll at a moments notice. Their arrival was part of an historic transition in the 140 year history of the Department. Much of the nation has already integrated its fire and EMS. With the deployment of these new vehicles in April, the KWFD entered the ranks of efficient, effective cities nationwide.

Fire Rescue starts onscene with treatment of their patiënts. Because of that, the first responders of the fire department (Engines) will be markes as NEF. All paramedic units (Rescues) are marked as NAW, cause they are the highest skilled and trained medical units. For the interclinical transports the ambulances are marked as KTW.
There is one privat ambulance service with three units: Florida Keys Ambulance. They have four units. Three Type II ambulances and two type III ambulances. Florida Keys Ambulance is specialized in interclinical transports, BLS, ALS, CCT and intensive care.
